1. Did something I've never done before
Scuba diving. Thanks to Nandini for this idea. It was fun and breathing under water for so long was new too! I, however, became hungry after seeing fishes and swimming delicacies during the dive; went for an elaborate seafood lunch after.
2. Most memorable event
When Nandini gifted me Grip car by Teenage Engineering on my birthday. She knows about my love for TE, my love for creating hardware products and highest quality in products. Completely unexpected and one of the happiest surprises.
3. Thing I want to do more in next six months that I couldn't in the last six
Hackathons at work. It's one of my favourite activities to enable the team to go crazy, become hard-core creators, and produce stuff that's fun and exciting!
4. A serious injury
Fainted while on a video call with my wife when I was in Gurgaon for a work trip. Bruises on the back of my head, 3 internal hemorrhages in brain ~12mm each, 1 front skull fracture ~4mm wide. Was in ICU for almost a week. Thankfully, was surrounded by colleagues and friends, and most importantly Nandini who took care of me. Got an Apple Watch immediately after discharge. I hope I don't use it for fall detection.
5. Valuable life lesson learnt so far
Don't visit NCR during peak summers. Value time above all — who & what I choose to spend time on.
6. The best thing I bought
Truthear - HEXA in-ear monitors for listening to music, podcasts on phone or laptop. Wanted to get away from wireless earbuds and this turned out to be perfect.
7. My favourite show
The 3-body problem. Takes a few episodes to get a hang of it. Immediately made to my all-time top 3 list after I finished the first season. Got the book to read it on my next vacation.
8. Something I wanted but didn't get
Zephyrus Duo 16 laptop. Nandini said no, and rightfully so. She is usually my approver on irrational purchases and knows that I want it as a collectible and won't use regularly. I still love that hardware but I know I won't use it given it runs on Windows.
9. The best book I read so far this year
Build by Tony Fadell. Is now among the top 3 books I gift.
